EXCERPTS FROM "ONCE UPON A MARRIAGE..." TWO PAGES FROM THE INTRODUCTION

Introduction

The main purpose of this book is to help bring the reader into the awareness of some very controversial aspects of biblical marriage. The information contained in this manuscript is of such vital consequence to Society at large that I had originally purposed to share it with the entire public mainstream. However, in time I realized it was a complete vanity to share information with others who generally did not care, could not be interested, were unable to relate, or hardly even valued marriage to begin with. After establishing numerous web sites on the Internet and generating vast volumes of information, I developed a growing sense of having my finger on the pulse of the public mainstream regarding biblical marriage and a good many of the common problems associated with it. I also learned some of the reasons for this is that many people just aren’t all that interested in marriage and the ramifications involved in the election of such a noble and precious institution. That this book is currently in your hands sets you, the reader, apart from the majority.

After several attempts to write this book from different points of view and from the various perspectives generally held by denominational, doctrinal, and cultural institutions claiming proclivities toward that common denominator, the Holy Bible, it became apparent that this too, was a vanity on my part. Although the Holy Bible has played a significant role in the development of Western Society, it also occurred to me that the only perspective by which it could be honestly written by me was my own; regardless of how objectively it might be written. This is a compilation of my findings at the most basic and general level available to me concerning both the complexity and simplicity touching the marvellous wonders of that mystery of what both GOD and man, in spirit and truth, have determined in that book: Marriage, even from the beginning of creation unto this day.

The insights in this book are based upon that Book of books, which the faithful adherents of Christ declare to be the Holy Bible and the inspired Word of GOD. Its primary focus is one that union which GOD first ordained and declared marriage from the beginning. The volume reflects on those things which our LORD and SAVIOUR called husband and wife, without excluding what GOD verily called “wives” in accordance and respect toward all that is written in that most valued and cherished Book, which is still prevalent in virtually every church and in every courthouse to this very day. How much credence one must take in the printed word of the Holy Bible is not for me, a mere author, to dictate and to demand of the objective reader. I would dictate nothing here except only to appeal to the reader that they might receive that more perfect knowledge plainly dictated in both the Old Testament and the New Testament of the Holy Bible. Rather it is by that liberty which both GOD and man have so generously granted me that I might be so bold as to declare this truth; even as it is plainly presented in the most ancient and revered of texts, without feinting or flinching from those specific things which most pastors have seemingly avoided as though they were part of some great plague forbidden of GOD to be preached from the pulpit or taught in the churches, much less declared and honoured in our modern-day courts of law.

Once Upon a Marriage: Beyond the Monogamy Myth addresses the subject of marriage between husband and wife at its most basic and fundamental levels as plainly described in the Holy Bible in relation to that complexity and holy example of one LORD and one GOD as Head and Husbandman over a vast multitude, a number too great for any man to count. It is not written only for the novice and bigoted religionists, but this work is also a sincere plea to honest hearts and honest minds that truly reverence and respect all that is written in the Holy Bible. It is not written for the applause of those individuals who only value partial truth to the exclusion of those most gracious things of GOD, which are plainly stated in the Holy Bible concerning marriage between a man and a wife — or even wives. Howbeit, the author does mean to tear down those icons and idols of erroneous ideology to expose the raw nerves of those covering cherubs disguising themselves as “marital authorities” while picking our wallets and robbing otherwise good men of their rightful heritage in the LORD. In truth, these deceivers are merely handicapped messengers, each one towing a party line, many of them having registered their institutions with secularist dictators who manage the mammon they have appropriated by the various “humplemänner” of Westernized Society.

Iconoclasts are a “dime a dozen,” and it is precisely this knowledge that has kept me from even attempting to publish this work. It would seem that everyone has a tale to tell, a story to write. Notwithstanding, I find that now I have little choice but to regard the dictates of my own, personal constitution and conscience and to share this, my burden of knowledge. After having struggled for seven years’ duration in this, only to have it consistently proven time and time again, that we, who would take credence in that most sacred and Holy Book, have yet been consistently misinformed, reformed, and wrongly compelled to con-form to a faulty model, which the LORD GOD had never once intended any man to uphold, even from the beginning. Wherefore it behoves me that I should then write this work in answer to that Witness which Christ Jesus has provided me that none should remain the ignorant victims of a grand deception. It is now then, for the sake of my own conscience, that I find myself sharing this work with the committed resolve to have it published under the good graces of someone equally daring. The time for such a publishing is dead ripe and the time for change is now. What with all the confusion, hostility, and abject misery engendered in our institutions of worship and those various autocracies supposedly defining marriage, it should be readily apparent that something is still desperately wrong — not only in that part of Society which freely rejects the biblical truth, but also in all of those various institutions professing Christ and GOD. It is my sincerest hope that the reader might appreciate some measure of the message I share and that my efforts will help to improve their knowledge of what GOD called marriage. What determines this sacred institution as lawful and blessed in the Sight of GOD is not at all secondary to mankind, but is of the utmost importance. I beseech the reader to lay aside any and all prejudices and biases to the benefit of learning those manifest things, which are indeed esteemed of GOD, and are fully presented in the scriptures concerning this vast volume of insight that both students and teachers of the Gospel should be better equipped to fight the good fight and run the good race to the glory and honour of the Most High. May GOD bless the reader with this knowledge.
